Excellent hip and knee results in the Swiss National Joint Registry (SIRIS)
The Mathys hip and knee systems stand out with below-average long-term revision rates in the Swiss National Joint Registry (SIRIS)1.

The Mathys bonepreservation hip system consisting of the RM Pressfit vitamys cup and the optimys stem is the most often used hip system in Switzerland between 2016 and 2021.
The implants are not only used very often, but they also perform excellent. The implant combination stands out with below-average long-term revision rates in the Swiss National Joint Registry (SIRIS).
The Mathys bonepreservation hip systems demonstrates significantly lower revision rate than the average of all total hip arthroplasties. The revision rate after seven and nine years stays constant at 2.6% (95% confidence interval (CI) of 2.3 - 3.0).
balanSys CR
Also, the Mathys knee system, balanSys BICONDYLAR, shows excellent performance in the Swiss National Joint Registry (SIRIS).
Both the balanSys BICONDYLAR CR (cruciate retaining) and the balanSys BICONDYLAR PS (posterior stabilised) system perform significantly better at nine years with a revision rate of 3.8% (95% CI of 2.8 – 5.3) for the CR and 5.6% (95% CI of 4.6 – 6.8) for the PS compared to the average of all total knee arthroplasties.
Moreover, the balanSys BICONDYLAR CR implant system stands out with below-average long-term revision rates.
