Last month, the annual report of the German Arthroplasty Registry (Endoprothesenregister Deutschland – EPRD)1 was published. The Mathys bonepreservation system, consisting of the optimys short stem and the RM Pressfit vitamys cup, continues to impress with excellent results in the EPRD.
After 7 years, the individual results of the RM Pressfit vitamys cup and the optimys stem show the lowest revision rates of all hip cups and stems, respectively. The cumulative revision rates after 7 years are 2.7% for the RM Pressfit vitamys cup and 2.6% for the optimys stem.
Combined, the two implants perform even better. The Mathys bonepreservation system has the lowest revision rate of all uncemented systems in the EPRD1. The cumulative revision rate after 5, 6 and 7 years remains constant at 2.3%.
These excellent results underline the growing success of the bonepreservation system in the markets of Mathys’s subsidiaries in the past 10 years.
Detailed results can be found in the annual report (currently German version only).
